New World Technologies set the industry standard when the E-RAD electric high-capacity torque wrench debuted in 2005. There was nothing like this tool on the market at that time: a calibrated, accurate, electric torque wrench with a capacity as high as 4,000 feet/pounds. Around the same time, the American wind energy business started to take off in a scalable way.
New World & Maxpro began to work closely with major wind turbine manufacturers, such as General Electric and Vestas, on E-RADs that would accurately and efficiently torque the large number of bolts on these wind towers. The result? Over the last 15 years, thousands of wind towers were successfully assembled worldwide using ERADs.
Today's E-RADs are far more advanced than the original 1.0 versions in 2005, but rest assured that quality is still the focus of every tool made. E-RADs today have several market-leading features, including:
- 18000 NM capacity tools
- Built-in torque & angle capability
- Data downloading capability
- Safety options features, such as two-handed triggers, slide handles, and handguards
- Built-in torque transducers on the E-RAD "S" version
Every precision E-RAD tool is hand-made in Canada by New World Technologies. Maxpro Corporation is the United States' leading E-RAD master dealer, providing E-RAD tools, parts, and services. We stock, repair, and calibrate E-RADs as an authorized dealer. If you are in the wind industry, contact Maxpro with your E-RAD requirements.
